Eligibility & Requirements
This two-day, in-person retreat introduces core leadership principles and sets the foundation for success throughout the program. You’ll meet your fellow ALP students, connect face-to-fact with your instructors, and enjoy an immersive leadership learning experience covering topics ranging from personal growth and development to team building and networking.
Education Requirements
Participants must meet one of the following educational criteria:
- A post-secondary degree or diploma from a program minimum three years in duration, or
- A post-secondary degree or diploma in health or social services from a program minimum two years in duration.
Work Experience
Participants must have a minimum of three years of work experience in a managerial or supervisory role.
Exceptions
Exceptions to the eligibility criteria for the Administrator Leadership Program may be granted at the discretion of AdvantAge Ontario. For full details on administrator requirements under the Fixing Long-Term Care Act, 2021, see sections 249 (3)(4) and (5) of Ont. Reg 246/22.
Student Expectations
To successfully complete the program and receive a digital certificate, participants must:
- Attend the virtual kick-off call
- Attend the two-day, in-person Leadership Foundations Forum
- Attend and complete all components of each module, including on-demand videos, journalling activities, assigned readings, live sessions, and all associated testing, achieving a passing grade.
- Collaborate with assigned group members throughout the course to prepare and deliver a group presentation on a long-term care case study, presented via Zoom to classmates and facilitators, and achieve a passing grade on the assignment.

Hotel Accommodations for Wed. Sept. 16 and Thurs. Sept 17 (two nights): $476.72
What’s Included
- Program Kick Off, a virtual orientation meeting prior to the start of the program.
- The two-day, in-person Leadership Foundations Forum, with breakfast and lunch included.
- Ten half-day virtual training sessions covering seven modules.
- All testing throughout the program.
- Student’s individual course work including reading and personal reflection time that is required throughout the program (approximately 8 hours per week).
- Group work on a case study assignment and final presentation
- Electronic copies of all course materials
- Digital certificate
What’s Not Included
Accommodations for the Leadership Foundations Forum are not included in the standard program fees. You may add hotel accommodations to your registration package for an additional fee.
*AdvantAge Ontario Personal Members do not qualify for the member rate.
